The Fabulous Feuza!

This past Friday, I had the chance to go to Knoxville for the day to meet the oh-so-fabulous Feuza Reis and Shannon Kelley. Feuza lives in New Jersey, but came to Knoxville to second shoot a couple of weddings with Shannon. Feuza and I had never met in person, but have become great friends online through a scholarship we both applied for back around Christmas. She has been such a great encouragement to me and has quickly become one of my dearest friends. So I was thrilled to meet her and hang out in person for a whole day. It was also a huge blessing to meet Shannon and get to know her. I'm looking forward to many more trips to Knoxville to hang out with her! Feuza and I rambled around town and she did some headshots for me, so I grabbed a few of her as well! Here she is!!! Girl, come back to TN soon! Love you!

I so enjoyed meeting sweet Kinsley and her parents last weekend at Maple Lane Farm. Their session got rained out the first time around, so we were so glad to have a nice afternoon to work with! They really do grow up fast! It seems like just yesterday I was doing Owen's newborn pictures, and here he is 7 months old! We tried to get it in at 6 months but had some troubles with scheduling, so I was so excited for it to finally work out and to head over to love on this sweet little man. Those mean teeth were bothering him, so we had lots of paci shots, but mom was so great about it all. She just went with the flow and I think we managed to get some really great shots that capture life right now for this family. And even though it was Owen's shoot, I couldn't help but let Abby have some time in front of the camera. She is too cute, and even gave me an "I love you" before I left. Such a sweet family - I hope you enjoy your sneak peek!

I can get away calling him that because he's my nephew. And I can also get away saying that he is one of the sweetest, cutest, most precious little men around. We had a short and sweet "let's get some pictures in his Baptism and Easter outfits while he's in a good mood" shoot when I was visiting last week, and I'm so glad we did! He hammed it up for me. My word, I could just eat those big thighs and kiss those big cheeks!!! I love you sweet Zach. I am one lucky aunt!

I told you that you would be seeing more of this sweet family! One thing about my "job" that is so special is getting to do things like this for my dear friends. What a blessing to be invited into their lives not only as friends, but as "documenter" of their family history. Mallory is the sweetest little thing. It took us some work to get her good and asleep, but we finally managed to do it, and I think it was worth the effort! Carter is an amazing big brother and just wants to love on her all the time. Congratulations to this sweet family of 4!!!

This session was so special to me! The first wedding I ever photographed solo was the wedding of these now new parents. It was so wonderful to be a part of their wedding day and now be a part of the first year of their sweet little boy's life. This was such a fun shoot! These two great guys are the sons of our pastor and his wife at our church. This is such a great, fun, awesome family! Mom was totally up for whatever with this session and seriously just wanted to capture Jake and Luke as who they are right now - active, goofy, and silly boys who just want to have fun - and beat up on each other a little bit. I love how laid back they were and how they were truly themselves in front of the camera. I have to start by saying that I LOVE THIS FAMILY!!! Sarah, Ryan, and Carter have become such dear friends to my little family. I could not have been more excited when they told us they were expecting baby #2. The past 9 months have flown by (Sarah might not agree with that statement...) and I can hardly believe that we will get to meet sweet Mallory on Friday!!! It was a true joy to capture these moments for this family. There are a lot posted here and I'm not sure if it is because they are just so dang cute (and Sarah is just flat out beautiful) or if it is because I love them to pieces. I haven't seen this little cutie pie since his newborn pictures and here he is - 6 months old! 6 months is one of my VERY favorite ages to photograph, and Hank was certainly no exception. I could have taken pictures of him all day long!!! He was so happy and content. I kid you not, the child did not fuss one tiny bit the entire time. He just went with the flow and gave me sweet grins and totally won me over with those blue eyes. Mom and da, it was so great to see you guys again. Hank is such a sweetheart and I know you are loving being his parents! Can't wait to play again!

These two cousins met up with me earlier this week and gave me a run for my money. Ok, well, not Jenna so much...She was pretty happy hanging out in my basket. But Lucas was on the go!!! The hope was to get a picture of the two of them together, and we did manage to get one (actually, ladies, more than one...they just all kind of look the same!) but the rest of the time - well, Lucas just wasn't having it. So I just ran around after him and caught some sweet action shots. Which in my mind is perfect. That is what this age is all about - action!!! And Jenna was just sweet and happy and beautiful. Just a couple of weeks ago, we packed up and headed to Florida to spend the week with Clark's family at a beautiful River House in Jacksonville. On one of our last night's there, we took advantage of the beautiful evening and got some pictures of my cute nephews, Sam and Jack (and mom and dad too!). So, I seriously think that 6 months is my favorite age to photograph. And Ethan was no exception!! When I got there, he was sleeping peacefully on mommy and she was afraid he might not be in a good mood. Well....These pictures prove her very wrong! He grinned for me the ENTIRE time. Meet Reagan.... I had so much fun with this little one and her family on Saturday. Big sister Emmalynne stayed by my side the whole time... Ok, seriously? Could this little guy be any cuter?? Aiden is the youngest of 3 super fun little boys belonging to super fun parents. I have had such a great time getting to know them. When the oldest was 2, he was in a wedding so mom and dad had to buy a tux. Well, it became a tradition for each boy to have his pictures made in that tux, and I was honored to get to capture little Aiden! He had lots of fun running around "big church" and in the midst of pulling his jacket off about a hundred times and playing lots of crazy games, I think we got some great shots. I LOVE Birthday parties! I especially love 1st Birthday Parties! It is just so much fun to watch them take it all in, and see their reactions. Little Hannah turned one on Valentine's Day, and I was thrilled that mom asked me to come document her party! We have tried to do a shoot several times, and it just hasn't seemed to work out. I had such a great time meeting this sweet family of 3 (almost 4)! It was a very cold afternoon (as you can see from the snow on the ground) but they were troopers and I had a blast getting some fun, different images. Now you can all see what a winter session looks like - and how fun it can be! I am loving Emmalynne's cute little coat, and then her hat and mittens were precious as well! Emmalynne just turned 2 so we used this session for her 2 year old pictures as well as a maternity session. I can't wait to meet the new little in just a few weeks. Oh my goodness - I can't get over HOW MUCH FUN this session was!!! I photographed Jenny and her husband back in October for their 1st Anniversary (such a great idea, btw). Not too long after that, Jenny contacted me about some special pictures she wanted to do for her husband. She wanted to be a "Pin Up Girl" for a day and wanted me to capture it for her. I was honored that she asked me, and I had no idea how much fun we would have. She got her hair and makeup done and arrived at my house with literally about 15 of the cutest dresses. We basically played dress up for a couple of hours, and I am thrilled at how they turned out. She was such a good sport and didn't even look at me like I was crazy when I asked if we could take advantage of the 6 inches of snow we had outside and do some pictures out in the elements. She was up for anything, and had a blast. I think the pictures show it. What a beautiful, confident, sweet girl - I just love you and had so much fun working with you Jenny!!! If anyone is interested in doing something like this for their husband, let me know! I would love to help you out. Jenny - you are a rock star! Hope hubby loved them!

Welcome to the world little Camden! I was thrilled to make it back over to Bristol to meet this new addition. Rayelea is a wonderful big sister, and everyone seems to be adjusting wonderfully to being a family of four. Camden was not having much to do with sleeping - He just wanted to take everything in. I'm not sure how it is that I manage to get all these alert and wide awake newborns! He was precious all the same, and we got some sweet shots. Zach is my newest nephew...and I must say I'm totally in love. Because of the H1N1 scare, Big Brother Braden wasn't allowed to visit his mommy and new baby brother in the hospital. I was so thrilled to be able to be there when he came home and met B for the first time. It was precious. He was so excited and so very proud. Mom is one of my good friends from church and has been anxiously awaiting the arrival of baby #3 after a pretty long stint of bedrest. We were all so happy he made his arrival early, and before Christmas!!! I seem to get very wide awake newborns these days.....But we did manage to get him sleeping for the last few shots before they had to head out for a dr. appointment! I love the squeals and giggles of delight when the grandkids see their grandparents. I love the joy in the faces of the grandparents when they see their children and grandchildren. 2010 - It's hard to believe!!!
What a year, what a decade, what a life!!!

It amazes me that in the past 10 years I have graduated from college, worked in 3 different churches, bought my first home, married the man of my dreams, given birth to the sweetest little boy on the planet (I'm biased, I know...), quit my job to become a stay at home mom, started a photography business, and made many, many friends along the way. What a great ride!

Today I look forward to not only 2010, but to the decade to come. It is exciting to think about what God has in store for me personally and professionally. I would have never guessed I would be where I am 10 years ago, so I can only imagine what the next 10 hold.

I had grand intentions of going back through all of my sessions from 2009 and posting some of my very favorite images for New Year's Day, but it just didn't happen. I have been enjoying having my husband home from work and hanging out with my boys. So forgive me.... Maybe I will do it next week when I am home alone with the little man and Clark has gone back to work (sniff, sniff).

I wish you all many wonderful blessings for 2010 and beyond. I can't wait to work with former and new clients in the coming year, and I look forward to growing as a person, wife, mother, artist, and follower of Christ.

What a sweet couple!!! I had a wonderful time photographing their beautiful winter wedding. I don't think they were expecting to have a snowstorm on their wedding weekend, but everything turned out wonderfully. I personally adored the snowflake cake - so fitting for the night! Merry Christmas Clients and Friends!!

I can hardly believe that Christmas is just a few days away. I'm sitting at my computer looking at the Christmas tree and the snow out the window while my boys are peacefully sleeping.... And I have been reflecting on the past year and all the incredible blessings it has held.

I am about to close in on my first full calendar year of being a mom - the greatest job that I have ever been given. Watching Drew grow and learn is a constant adventure that I am blessed beyond words to witness. Last Christmas, he was just a tiny thing and I remember thinking I could never feel any greater joy at Christmas than I did then. I was wrong.... My joy has grown exponentially this year as I watch Drew point to lights and go "Oooh" and say "Ho, ho" when asked what Santa says. My heart is touched when he goes and picks up baby Jesus from his nativity and, in his own little way, says "Jesus." I love seeing him toddle around in his too cute for words Christmas outfits. I love spending this precious time with him and with his daddy - my sweet husband. I am truly a blessed woman.

I have also been reflecting on this dream of mine to be a photographer - and what this year has done for that dream. That is where all of YOU come in. I cannot thank you enough for trusting me to capture your children, family, relationships, weddings.... What an honor to be a part of your lives. What I love the most about what I do is cultivating relationships with so many wonderful people - many of which have become dear friends. When I look back on the beginning of my journey about 3 and a half years ago, it is amazing to see what God has done. I have grown and learned so much, and my business has started to thrive - especially in this past year. When I am behind the lens of the camera, I feel alive and I LOVE it! I love to capture the moments that make you and your family who you are. I truly feel that God has blessed me with this talent to use for Him, and I am grateful that I get to share that gift with all of you.

2010 is full of exciting things for me and my business, and I can't wait to see it all unfold. I hope you will join me for the journey! May your family have a truly wonderful Christmas. I pray that you all have time to enjoy the presence of your loved ones and of God. Thank you for letting me a part of your lives!

He's Growing Up!

Sweet Carter.... I have been shooting this little guy since he was just tiny. I can't believe he is already a year old. One of the things that I love most about this job is that I get to watch children grow up, AND I get to know and become friends with some fabulous people. This family has been such a blessing in my life - Grammy included! :) Thank you guys for trusting me with your precious moments with little Carter. I was so excited to meet up with sweet Bailey again! Her mom and I went to high school together and I did her pictures back in July. Mom emailed and said they were coming through town and wanted me to do Bailey's 1 year pictures. I guess somebody has to do it, right?? Wow, I LOVE my job! This is one of my favorite sessions. This little guy was a trooper! It was COLD the morning we met, but mom decided to just go for it, and I'm glad she did. I can't believe it has taken me so long to get to these.... We went out one afternoon with our great friends and took some family pictures in the leaves, and attempted to get all the boys together for a shot. I just wanted to take a few moments to wish all of you a wonderful Thanksgiving. I have so very much to be thankful for this year..... a happy, healthy son; a supportive, loving, and faithful husband; a family that loves me regardless; friends, old and new, that bless my life in so many ways; a God that loves me (and you!) like crazy.... My list could go on and on.

I love it when clients invite me into their homes. This family was so fun, so laid back, and so full of love for each other. This was the first "official" photo shoot for their newest addition, Owen. Big sister Abby is so sweet and loving with him. It was a blast to watch. Abby was so sweet and fun - and was totally herself. We played with the dollhouse, blocks, and then she dressed up as Snow White for me. I loved how mom and dad just went with it and said, "This is just what we do." I can't believe little Carter is one! I have been photographing him since he was barely 3 months old - and he has become my little buddy! His mom and dad are pretty amazing too. Jenny and Steven just celebrated their 1 year anniversary, and wanted some pictures of the two of them, and with their pup Ruger. I had so much fun with them! They were totally up for anything and their love was just totally evident the entire time we were together. I love the way Steven looks at Jenny... The "sweet moments" in these pictures were totally not staged - that is just who they are and I LOVED it!!! The camera loved you guys - and so did I! One of the best things about this job is the friends that I make, and the joy of watching little ones grow. Lovin' the Hay!

This mom and I have been planning this session for a long time with hopes of doing it at her parents' house in their field with the hay bales. We didn't think it was going to happen, but a few days before our session, the workers came to bale the hay! YAY!! We had such a great time and I hope these are just what you were looking for mom!
